Interior Construction
What's Inside the Box
The material your cabinet is built from on the inside affects durability, weight, moisture resistance, and long-term performance. We offer three options — here's how they compare.
Plywood
Plywood is the industry standard for quality cabinet construction. Built from cross-laminated wood veneers, it resists warping, holds screws tightly, and handles moisture far better than particle board. Plywood boxes are stronger, lighter, and last longer — especially in kitchens and bathrooms where humidity is a factor. This is what we recommend for most projects.
Best For
Kitchens, bathrooms, and any area with humidity or heavy use
Advantages
- —Resists warping and moisture
- —Holds screws and hardware firmly
- —Lighter than particle board
- —Long service life

Pre-Finished Plywood
Pre-finished plywood is the same structurally sound plywood core with a factory-applied finish on the interior face. The result is a smooth, clean white or natural interior that looks finished from the moment the door opens. No raw wood showing, no additional painting needed inside the box. A popular upgrade for clients who want a polished look throughout.
Best For
Clients who want a clean, finished interior appearance
Advantages
- —Factory-finished interior surface
- —Same structural strength as standard plywood
- —No raw wood visible inside cabinet
- —Easy to wipe clean

Particle Board
Particle board is made from compressed wood chips and resin. It's heavier than plywood, more susceptible to moisture damage, and doesn't hold screws as well over time — especially with repeated use. We offer it as a lower-cost option for dry, low-traffic areas where budget is the primary concern.
Best For

Advantages
- —Lower material cost
- —Smooth, consistent surface
