Moulding
The Detail That Makes It Custom
Moulding is what separates installed cabinets from built-in furniture. The right profiles at the top, bottom, and transitions make the whole room feel finished.
Most people don't think about moulding until they see a kitchen without it — and then they notice immediately. Crown at the ceiling, light rail under the uppers, base at the floor. Each piece fills a gap, hides a transition, and adds visual weight that makes cabinets look like they belong in the room.

Crown Moulding
Crown moulding runs along the top of the upper cabinets and transitions to the ceiling. It fills the gap between cabinet top and ceiling, adds height and visual weight, and gives the kitchen a finished, built-in look. We mill crown profiles to match your door style — a shaker kitchen gets a simple, clean crown; a raised panel kitchen gets a more detailed profile.
Profile Options
- Simple cove crown
- Traditional ogee crown
- Built-up crown (stacked profiles)
- Dentil crown
- Stepped crown with frieze board

Light Rail
Light rail runs along the underside of upper cabinets. It hides under-cabinet lighting, covers the raw bottom edge of the cabinet, and adds a finished detail that most people only notice when it's missing. Profiles range from a simple flat strip to a more decorative cove or bead.
Profile Options
- Flat strip
- Cove profile
- Bead detail
- Ogee profile

Base Moulding
Base moulding covers the toe kick transition and ties the cabinet base to the floor. It hides gaps, covers uneven floors, and gives the cabinet run a grounded, furniture-like appearance. We match the base profile to the rest of the trim in the room when possible.
Profile Options
- Simple base cap
- Traditional base with shoe
- Craftsman flat base
- Ogee base

Dentil Detail
Dentil moulding features a row of evenly spaced rectangular blocks — a classical detail that adds formality and depth to a crown or frieze. Common in traditional and colonial-style kitchens. We mill dentil blocks to scale with your cabinet height and crown profile.
Profile Options
- Fine dentil (small blocks)
- Bold dentil (large blocks)
- Dentil with cove crown
- Dentil frieze board

Rope Detail
Rope moulding is a carved or routed twisted-rope profile used as an accent detail. It adds a nautical or traditional character and is often used on island legs, column accents, or as a detail within a built-up crown. Less common than dentil but distinctive when used well.
Profile Options
- Rope accent strip
- Rope column wrap
- Rope crown accent

Scribe Moulding
Scribe moulding covers the gap between the cabinet and an uneven wall. No wall is perfectly flat or plumb — scribe moulding is the professional solution that makes the transition look intentional. It's thin, flexible, and finished to match the cabinet.
Profile Options
- Flat scribe strip
- Cove scribe
- Bead scribe
